Microsoft's much heralded windows 7 operating system made is global debut last month. The Shop features laptops, Netbooks, Zune Players, Xbox 360 video games consoles, and mobiles phones running on Microsoft Software.

Slax Portable OS | Hetroweb

Slax is a small, Portable OS (based on Linux of course) with an interesting take on the installation process. Instead of coming preloaded with everything the developers thought would be nice to include, users get to choose what "modules" they want to add to the installation build. That is to say obe could skim a few

hundreds megabytes (and some time) off the installation by removng office sute software from the ISO image downloaded. Modules are basically software packages that can either be included in the installation or even added later. for example, Firefox is a module and so is the set of WIFI device drivers.
The most important and nice is that it is Avaliable in market and also on their site for Downloading free.

Jolicloud Linux OS | Hetroweb

Jolicloud is another linux-based OS focussed on Web applications, but what's different about the mix is that it's built for specificially for Net Books. i.e reletively low-powered computers with limited hard disk space. Its user interface (UI) is designed for limited screen real estate

and low power processors with the overall objective of getting the user to thier Web application of choice with as little OS cruft as possible. It relies on applications like WINE, ADOBE AIR and MOZILLA Prism to provide a window to Web apps such as Gmail, Facebok, Zoho Suit, etc. Jolicloud is an internet Operating System and so, the same drawbacks apply; users aren't necessarily connected online 24x7 and not everyone can trust the cloud without with all of their data. Still, it is an intersting comcept in the evolution os OS design and for a secondary computer-- as most netbooks usually are Jolicloud is a great idea.....

Google OS | Gos | Hetroweb

Good OS, more commonly known simply as a gOS is a lightweight implementation of Ubunto Linux with a focus on web applications. In other words, gOS is basically the cloud-centric operating system of today, using web apps instead of locally running programs for e-mails, photo and document editing, etc.

Because of the familiarity this breeds, gOS is often touted as the most easy to adjust to Linux distribution in the market. it comes preloaded with WINE to allow for Windows applications and makes heavy use of Google Gadgets on the desktop.
However, not everyone is comfortable with relinquishing controll of all computing power to the cloud, unstable as it is today.
